Mr. Hetem Ramadani is one of the most successful Albanian enterpreneurs, being among the list of the richest Albanian business people after the 90’s.

He was dismissed from his civil service job in Kosovo due to his support for Kosovar independence. He then fled to Slovenia in 1991, chased out of Kosovo by Slobodan Milosevic's secret police according to the Financial Times, and arrived there penniless and unable to speak the language.

In Slovenia, he founded the oil products trading company Salbatring International which specialises in trading oil related financial derivatives.

At start Salbatring International specialized in trading metallurgical related products such as ferroalloys, petroleum and metallurgical cokes as well as coal. In terms of traded volumes, Salbatring International was one of the largest players in the region and showed substantial growth over the following years.

On 2008 turnover at Salbatring increased from 60 million euros in 2007 to 611 million euros, despite Salbatring having only 14 employees.

Ramadani was calculated to be the seventh richest person in Slovenia, with estimated assets of over 68 million euros.

On year 2009, his company was awarded the prize of the Fastest Growing Company in Southeastern Europe having a 937% growth.

According to the “Finance” Magazine, Salbatring International was ranked number 57 in the Top 100 biggest companies in the Southeastern Europe.

Nevertheless, in spite of his massive success, Ramadani is a very unusual businessman. In interviews he cites, as his business motto, courage, creativity and peace, values he learned to appreciate during his stay in India and the seminars he attended by well-known US yoga promoter Deepak Chopra.

Even now Ramadani claims to spend a few hours meditating each day, spends 60 days each year on the seaside, 35 skiing and travels somewhere every weekend. Asked how he manages this along with all his other obligations, he says that he "does not work much, but works smart."

In his book "Health and Wealth through Meditation" Mr. Ramadani explains how Transcendental Meditation allows the mind to settle inward beyond thought to experience the source of thought — transcendental consciousness, the unified field. In this state of restful alertness, the brain functions with significantly greater coherence and the body gains deep rest.

What motivates Mr. Ramadani is his own experience how meditation restored his health and contributes to his incredible success in business. His intensive studies of the literature on meditation and the lectures of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and various scientists on consciousness, the brain, physiology and quantum physics let him to the conclusion that this is something of great benefit to every Albanian.

It inspired him to go ahead and make Transcendental Meditation available to every Albanian who wants to accomplish more. And smilingly he added, accomplish more by doing less!
