Bethany George is Director of Investment Funds for Rev1 Ventures in Columbus Ohio, a city recognized for startup growth. She leads Rev1's teams analyzing companies to invest in. Their process takes an average of 500 inquiries/year and determines the 20 best to receive investments. This provides Bethany with unique insights in to what factors are critical to businesses seeking funding and growth.
As Director of Investment Funds at Rev1 (www.rev1ventures.com), Bethany is responsible for much of the day-to-day operations of all of the Rev1 Funds. She leads Rev1’s due diligence teams in analyzing investment prospects and executing investments out of Rev1’s funds from concept stage investments to pre-seed investments.
Bethany has worked with start-ups and venture development organizations for more than a decade all over the world. She has been Executive in Residence at TechGROWTH Ohio and the Innovation Center at Ohio University. In that role, she advised pre-revenue/early stage technology inventors, entrepreneurs and management teams, working with the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at Ohio University, helping faculty & graduate students who were interested in forming spin-off companies. Client engagements included: assessing markets & competition, building investor presentations, designing capital access and technology development plans, writing grant proposals, overseeing use of grant funds by clients, assisting in risk analysis for companies applying for Growth Funding, and participated on diligence teams for the pre-seed Investment Committee.
