Niel is currently an angel investor, board member, and operating advisor to a number of technology companies specializing in product development and product management process. 

Previously he founded and was CEO of Trada, the only crowdsourced paid search marketplace. He co-founded and serves as Director for VigLink, the worlds leading content driven commerce network. He also co-founded and serves as Director for Ramen, the first platform for Product Managers to continuously engage their customers in the product development process. He co-founded and serves as Director for tenXer, a platform for measuring and optimizing engineering team performance. He helped start and served as Director for Collaborate.com which was recently sold to Cisco, co-founded and was the CTO of Newmerix which sold to Beacon Technologies. He also co-founded Service Metrics and pioneered the Application Performance Management (APM) space. Service Metrics was acquired by Exodus Communications in 1999 where Niel continued to serve as VP of Research.
