Having started 10 years ago, the events and lifestyle platform was founded by Alix Grubel and has been recently acquired by the Nation Media Group, a move that will see Kenyabuzz experience exponential growth and expansion. The main source of income on Kenyabuzz is online advertising and revenue generated through ticketing of events and movies.
Before started Kenyabuzz, Alix had worked in the Health Sector for many years, having served as a Program Officer for 2 years at John Snow Incorporated, a Regional Health Officer for USAID for 7.5 years and as a Kenya Country Director for IntraHealth International for 2 years. Her transition from employment to starting the business came from identifying a need in the Kenyan market which she addressed through the inception of Kenyabuzz.
