Thea Myhrvold is a third time tech entrepreneur, based in Dubai. Being half Arabic and Norwegian, her passion for education was sparked when she started teaching two girls with learning disabilities. This inspired her to start one of the first game-based apps for high school students in 2012. It was this inspiration that lead her to start TeachMeNow.com.
Thea Myhrvold is a third time tech entrepreneur at 26, based in Dubai. Being half Arabic and Norwegian, she studied in Geneva (with the goal of getting into the UN) but realized she could make a bigger impact elsewhere. Her passion for education was sparked when she started teaching two girls with learning disabilities (one ADD and the other Dyslexia). This inspired her to start one of the first game-based apps for high school students on the app store in 2012 which was an online version of the games she used to make for her students.
After the app launched, she received numerous requests for teaching online. She had students from Japan to Australia, however, she was looking for an uber or airbnb-like platform where she could create/teach online with all the tools she needed. Thea's passion for education lead her to start TeachMeNow.com.
Teach Me Now provides a virtual classroom for teachers and students looking to enrich their academic experience. Supported by interactive tools and resources, users create a profile and connect with the tutor of their choice. Teach Me Now is changing the way students, parents, and teachers think about education.
