This year, we bring the event in partnership with Altice Labs and Startup Lisboa to announce another edition of the Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA). The highest monetary prize currently awarded in Portugal, in the area of ​​technological innovation, is back for its 7th edition and is receiving applications until September 24, 2023.

In Portuguese, we often say that "Santos da casa não fazem milagres" (Home-grown saints can't work miracles), but is this fair? Are our dear local-bread investors any different from foreign ones? How do their strategies differ? Can this be fairly attributed to the lack of powder to deploy? And does this affect the national ecosystem as a whole?

Strong consulting professional with an Executive Course in Business Management focused in Management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

David Cruz e Silva - Moderator

David Cruz e Silva is one of the founders of The European VC - the go-to podcast and connector of the European venture industry.

Inês de Macedo Santos - Panelist

Inês is a pragmatic and focused professional who likes to understand the details that matter.

She is mainly involved in identifying and screening opportunities to be invested by our funds, and in helping portfolio companies overcome all types of challenges. Inês holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from FCT Nova and an MBA from Nova/Católica Universities, in collaboration with MIT-Sloan. Before joining Armilar, Inês worked for 8 years in Strategic and Management Consulting, at The Boston Consulting Group. Inês is a sports passionate and plays padel at national level, but she also is a passionate mother who likes to spend quality time with her family. She is both Portuguese & French and speaks English fluently. Inês joined Armilar in September 2021.

Sofia Queiroz - Panelist

Sofia is Principal at MSM Fund, an early stage generalist impact fund. Invest in courageous founders who solve the world's greatest social and environmental challenges.

Sofia also has experience as a Financial Services consultant at Deloitte, having completed her academic training at Católica-Lisbon.

Ksenia Novikova - Panelist
