Paul Saad is the CEO and Founder of FUTURELIFE. which is a functional food company whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals . After graduating from the University of Natal, Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant and after doing a stint in London he launched several businesses including a company that manufactures shoe soles, producing thermoplastic rubbers, making PVC and a venture financing company. It was through his extensive experience in business that the saw a gap in the South African food market for a nutritious product requiring very little resources. The product was to cater for the poverty stricken malnourished individuals in South Africa. In 2008 Saad led a social project with a research team of doctors and nutritionists to create an all in one, immune boosting product. The idea was that one simply had to add water to the product and it will have all the nutrients required for a balanced meal. FUTURELIFE was launched in Durban in 2009 and quickly became one of the fastest growing and credible health brands in the South African food market. The product was considered so beneficial that the the company partnered with the South African Department of HEalth's feeding scheme to supply all clinics and hospitals nationally with the meal. Beyond getting accolades in the medical field FUTURELIFE became extremely popular with Olympians such as Chad le Clos who used the product for his dietary requirements. In 2015 Pioneer Foods announced a purchase of 50% of FUTURELIFE in a joint venture deal. .
