Fresh from announcing one of the biggest Series A rounds seen in Ireland, we're delighted to announce that Charles Dowd, Founder and CEO of Plynk is our June guest at Startup Grind Dublin! Charles Dowd is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years experience in software and internet solutions.
He currently serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Plynk, one of Europe’s leading person-to-person payment apps. Prior to Plynk, Charles worked for some of world’s largest and most impactful technology firms, including IBM, Microsoft, and Facebook, holding senior management roles in the United States and Ireland.
Outside of his multinational experience, Charles’s own ventures have included a social loyalty company that was acquired by Student Universe (Parent: FLT (ASX)) and morphed into SoHalo, currently headquartered in Palo Alto. In 2014, Charles left a product management role at Facebook to follow his passion for social payments and established Plynk, the money messenger.
Charles holds a BA in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin.
