Mike Cottrill is a recovering journalist who landed in the software world. As the web has expanded the need for content, Mike and his business partners realized how hard it is for businesses to develop and scale their content efforts, which led them to quit their comfortable jobs and start Beegit in late 2013.

Mike Cottrill is a recovering journalist who landed in the software world. A former newspaper and magazine editor, Mike realized the opportunity for brands to tell their own stories before the buzzy phrase “content marketing” existed (they called it brand journalism then and people still used fax machines… these were crazy times).
As the web has expanded the need for content, Mike and his business partners realized how hard it is for businesses to develop and scale their content efforts, which led them to quit their comfortable jobs and start Beegit in late 2013. Now, their platform helps customers from all over the world write their stories and grow their businesses.
Mike is originally from Akron, Ohio, and now lives on the west side of Cleveland. He has an undergraduate degree from Ohio University and a graduate degree from Kent State.
