Patrick is also CEO and co-founder of Uprise.Africa, South Africa’s first equity crowdfunding platform; founder of the Indalo Project, a social entrepreneurship project; and BackaBuddy, South Africa’s leading homegrown cause & activism crowdfunding platform. BackaBuddy has raised over R27m for 900 charities from over 30 000 individuals.
Patrick invests in innovation and believes in the power of individual philanthropy and peer-to-peer giving through technology. He was named South African Entrepreneur of the year in 2008/9 & 10 and was awarded the Schwab Fellowship in recognition of his work in Social Entrepreneurship.
