According to Akinwumi Adesina the President of the African Development Bank and formal Nigerian Minister of Agriculture "the change needed, he says, requires a shift in mindset. “We were not looking at agriculture through the right lens. We were looking at agriculture as a developmental activity, like a social sector in which you manage poor people in rural areas. But agriculture is not a social sector. Agriculture is a business. Seed is a business, fertiliser is a business, storage, value added, logistics and transport - it is all about business.”

We wants to change the sector’s image, putting it at the forefront of national development. “Agriculture is the future of Nigeria. And agriculture that is modernised, that is productive, that is competitive. We must be a global player,” he says"

EBOIGBE IGB. IDOWU PETER.

A graduate of Agricultural Extension and Farm Management and post Graduate in Business Administration. An Associate Fellow, Corporate Administration of Nigeria. He was trained as Plantation Organizer. A certified Auditor in Environmental Management System ISO14001. He is the MD/ CEO of P-MAN Integrated services Nigeria Limited. An Agro based consulting firm, Human Capacity Development Service provider, Civil engineering Construction firm and Real Estate Service Provider.

22 years working experience in a Multinational company, Michelin Plantation, a member of the Sifca Group, in the Natural Rubber Industry. He held the following positions while working; HOD Disease and Technical Control, HOD Agriculture, Staff Planning and Development Manager, Project Development Manager and HOD Rubber Outgrower Development.

He managed 3,717.4 hectares and 4,000 hectares of mature rubber plantations in Edo and Ondo States respectively as the Agric. Manager. In 2010 -2012, I establish 2,500 hectares of Rubber plantation in Edo State as the project Manager. When appointed Outgrower Manager, I established 5,224 hectares of plantations for individual self - financed farmers in four states in Nigeria viz, Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ogun States respectively.

He is also a plantation farmer. He owns a rubber plantation of 45.6 hectares in Edo State.

He is the author of the book “Outgrower Plantation Establishment and exploitation”. Published in 2006. Trained within and outside the country. He has presented papers in seminars and workshops at Local, National and International levels.

He retired as senior Management staff of Rubber Estate Nig. Ltd.
