How can one individual generate more than $1 million in revenue? The rise of one-million-dollar, one-person businesses is getting increasingly popular and is seen as one of the biggest trends in employment and entrepreneurship over the past five years. It is not only offering the widest range of people a new way of earning a living, but it also enables a more flexible and independent lifestyle.

About this event

Dear Community,

The number of companies with no employees except the business owner, so called "non-employer firms", that hit $1-$2.49 million in revenue in 2018 rose to 41,666 in 2018, according to just-released studies by Census (Census, 2020). It marks one of the biggest movements in entrepreneurship and entails new opportunities of getting part of it.

What type of businesses do solo entrepreneurs with these high-revenues operate? And how do they differentiate from usual small businesses?

We invited two speakers for you that have become a crucial part of this movement and shaped the trends of solo entrepreneurship and new virtual ways of living a more diverse and flexible lifestyle.

Why is this topic especially important now?

In fact, looking back - a high number of solo businesses that hit $1 million in annual revenue started during Great Recession. In times of crisis like we experience it now with the global pandemic - traditional jobs become scarce and more people are looking for alternative work opportunities.

In this time - more than ever, self-employment and an independent lifestyle can entail new entrepreneurship opportunities. Although today’s environment is different from the one in the last recession, there are certainly some parallels and learnings that we can gain from the last crisis, helping each of us to learn about new growth opportunities.

What can you expect from this event?

Our panelists will also elaborate on how they joined this entrepreneurial movement and on how to identify, launch, grow, and reinvent the business, showing how a single individual can generate $1 million in revenue.
