The future of Web3 - Fireside with Blockpit CEO Florian Wimmer

Content :

Bitcoin is taking the world by storm, establishing itself as the very first “crypto currency” - but what is actually behind the new technology and how will it trigger the democratization of the internet?

Tune in to hear about the differences between web2 and web3, the impact blockchain technology has on not just the financial sector, but potentially every digital service we are using in our daily lives and how it ultimately will make our world better.

We will touch upon current trends, the global regulatory approach to a completely new asset class and how Bitcoin became a huge topic in politics recently.

Special guest speaker :

Florian Wimmer, Founder & CEO Blockpit AG

Florian has a diploma in software engineering and worked at KPMG after finishing his studies. He entered the crypto space in 2015 and experienced the trouble of compliant tax reporting of his trading activities, which led him to found Blockpit, a company which offers software-as-a-service consumers and authorities to help with tracking, optimizing and reporting taxable crypto income. Blockpit is based in Austria, counts over 350,000 users, serves two government agencies and is currently active in nine jurisdictions in Europe and the US.

What is Startup Grind?

Startup Grind was founded in 2010 when our founder, Derek Andersen got some friends and fellow entrepreneurs together to crack the same problem they were all facing: the growing challenges of launching a company.

We host a lot of events. But more than that, Startup Grind is a community. We bring like-minded yet diverse individuals together to connect, learn, teach, help, build, and belong.

We were founded in Silicon Valley, but our chapters have roots in 600 cities across 125 countries (and counting!)

Our mission:

To give startups everywhere the education and opportunities they need to build, grow, and scale their companies.

Our values:

We believe in making friends, not contacts. We believe in giving first, not taking. We believe in helping others before helping yourself.
