The perfect place to start Glasgow Tech Week!
On Monday night, we'll hear from local talent about their experiences in growing a global business and being at the forefront of a startup's journey to international expansion. Our speakers bring unique global perspectives: one built a local business from scratch and took it global, while the other was part of the early team of a startup that achieved international success.
We'll delve into the challenges and opportunities of scaling internationally, securing global investment, and building products with worldwide impact. Whether you're a founder looking to expand, an investor scouting the next big thing, or just curious about the global potential of Scottish startups, this event is for you.
We will also be bringing all the usual goodness of a Startup Grind Glasgow event including the chance to share your voice and take stage with Open Mic, an opportunity for you to tell your story and pitch your ask. There will always be space for catching up with old friends and making new ones!
Marcus Fields - Aged 15 and still a high school student in Glasgow, Marcus co-founded SchoolCloud, an award-winning EdTech SaaS platform used by over 8,000 schools worldwide. Without external funding, he led the company through to a successful acquisition in 2021. Marcus now mentors start-ups and supports the next wave of Scottish tech founders.
Chad West - Employee number 12 at Revolut, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer for the company’s first five years. During his tenure, Revolut scaled to over 20 million customers, reached $10 billion in monthly transaction volume, and achieved a $33 billion valuation.

Before his roles at Revolut and Argent, Chad was part of Rocket Internet - the legendary startup incubator behind several global tech unicorns such as HelloFresh, Zalando, and Delivery Hero. He also actively invests in and advises early-stage startups across the European tech landscape.
