Aisha Janki
Aisha is the CEO/founder of Janki Robotics, an beauty-tech startup in Edinburgh backed my Innovate UK, the National Robotarium, Scottish Edge, amongst others. She’s passionate about sharing her experiences with a view to inspire, motivate and educate and you can find her creating content on LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok where she has amassed a following of over 160,000. She’s a graduate of architecture from the university of Edinburgh and a recipient of the Mastercard Foundation scholarship. In recognition of her influential and transformative leadership whilst at university, she was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Sir William Darling Memorial Prize and she was recognised as one of the top 3 black university students in Britain by Rare Recruitment.
Gayle Reid
A wife, mother, and Head of User Applications for IGS. Gayle has a extensive experience working with startups and has come up through the ranks as a C++ software engineer scrum master and project manager before settling at IGS as a team lead then department head. Gayle describes herself as a neurodivergent superhero, and champion for STEM careers for all.
Kathryn Nicolson
Before entering the word of technology Kathryn gained a degree in International Business with Modern Languages before falling into the world of tech on her graduate programme at Edrington, an international spirits company based in Glasgow. After quickly falling in love with the problem solving nature of working with technology and building solutions with marketers and engineering teams, Kathryn is now a Product owner in the digital technology team leading global projects. On top of her day job, Kathryn also recently completed a masters in Digital Transformation Leadership at Barcelona Technology School.
Clara O'Callaghan
Clara is a cyber-security undergrad student at Edinburgh Napier and Vice President on ENUSEC (the cyber-security society at their university). Having volunteered in various initiatives since high-school, Clara is passionate about computing science and the gender inequality present in all STEM subjects. They are keen to create spaces for women and gender minorities in tech. Outside of tech, Clara is a reader, taekwondo student and nature lover
Prof. Ana Basiri
Ana Basiri is a Professor in Geospatial Data Science, the Director of Centre for Data Science and AI, a UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellow, and Royal Academy of Engineering's EngineeringX Champion at the University of Glasgow. Ana leads an interdisciplinary team working on developing the theoretical and applied solutions that consider unavailability and biases in data as useful source of data to make inferences about the underlying reasons that caused missingness or biases. For this she collaborates with world-leading academic and industrial partners, including Uber, and Google.
