Did you know that 70% of jobs are found through networking events? This applies as much to tech as it does to any other industry, and even if not hiring, technology events are incredibly valuable for those with new products and new companies. This April will see a number of tech events make their debuts and returns. There are events for everyone in every niche.
Since you're here, you probably know the Startup Grind Global Conference, but especially for April, here are my six most-recommended events coming up in the next few weeks.
Microsoft Convergence
Microsoft’s Convergence is the standout star of April. A lot of companies launch their events during the fall or towards the start of the summer. Microsoft does things differently by positioning itself during a period where many people are just starting to gain some momentum in time for summer.
This year Convergence lasts from April 4th to April 7th and will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Anyone is free to attend and learn from some of the best minds in technology.
Every year Convergence is special because ordinary businesses designing appliances to wearable technology to new software products can pick the brains of the masters. The top minds from both Microsoft and other giants of the tech industry are on hand to educate and answer your questions.
It’s not a cheap conference to attend, but it could well transform your company.
IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering
Overlapping with Microsoft’s event, the IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering is the perfect alternative if you happen to be operating in Europe or you would like to go somewhere different this year as it’s taking place in Berlin, Germany.
This conference is billed as the chance to engage in a forum filled with high-quality businesses and the sharpest minds in technology. The main goal of this conference is to share and acquire practical information. It’s mainly based on engineering principles and enabling technology, but it’s also a major conference in the academic world.
Well-known figures from academia tend to attend each year.
Social Media Marketing World
The halfway point of the month sees Social Media Marketing World make its way to San Diego, California. Held in the San Diego Convention Center, right on the bayfront, Social Media Marketing World can help you improve in any area of social media you choose.
From April 17th to April 19th, you can choose from 100 workshops and lectures led by experts on social strategy to conversion masters. Chris Brogan and Marie Smith are among the experts who will be attending this year.
eMerge Americas
The eMerge Americas conference is one of the youngest conferences. 2016 will be its third conference and takes place from April 18th to April 19th. Located in Miami, Florida, in 2015 it welcomed over 10,000 people from 55 countries. 500 companies were represented here, and over a hundred of them were startups.
2016 will see the conference appear at the Miami Convention Center. It’s all about innovation, regardless of how large or small you are.
New Media Expo (NMX)
The NMX conference is a content marketing conference tailored specifically to content creators. If you are involved with YouTube, podcasting, or blogging this is the conference for you. It’s a three-day conference starting on April 18th. The best part about this is that you can actually go into the exhibit hall and get the keynotes entirely free of charge.
To get the full experience, it’s highly recommended that you spring for full membership as it really is worth it. 2016 could be the year where NMX is more important than ever before as video marketing continue to exercise its dominance over the industry.
Hero Conf
Hero Conf promotes itself as the largest PPC event in the world, with 65 speakers and 11 networking events. Attendees at Hero Conf will gain the benefit of learning about actionable tips for making PPC marketing work for them. It’s a difficult thing to get right and the lessons you learn here will teach you how to go about it without losing a lot of money.
Taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this is a three-day conference starting on April 24th. On a side note, the full-foil breakfasts provided at this conference are known to be exquisite.
Which Conference Will You Attend?
Attending a conference can be invaluable for your company. Send the right people to these networking events and you could just find that it teaches you the skills necessary to take your business to the next level.
