Startup Grind Syracuse launches with WCNY

Central New York has a history of being one of the most innovative communities in the country. Besides the hundreds of technological contributions that changed the way we live, play, and work, Central New York is home to social movements and advocacy that continues to change our society for the better. In keeping with that history, WCNY and Tony Kershaw from The Tech Garden are proud to announce Startup Grind Syracuse, a monthly event celebrating the entrepreneurs and innovators in our community.

Syracuse is joining over 150 cities across 65 countries around the world dedicated to educating, connecting, and inspiring entrepreneurs. The Startup Grind Syracuse team will develop and deliver content that will engage, inform, and inspire our regional community of entrepreneurs and innovators.

The partnership between will leverage WCNY’s production expertise and multi-platform broadcast/communications capabilities and Tony’s pulse of the community and network of relationships. Working together, the team will develop additional content formats such as short interviews, on-location TV segments, topical webinars, etc., as they evolve naturally from the ideas covered each month. WCNY will also host Startup Grind Syracuse at it’s new, LEED platinum Broadcast and Education Center.

Startup Grind Syracuse gives local entrepreneurs a platform to share their stories across WCNY’s 19 county service area in additional to the global platform provided by Startup Grind Global. Content segments delivered to television will be part of a half-hour television program aired on WCNY and shared with a network of PBS affiliates. The development of this partnership helps WCNY and Startup Grind Syracuse convene a very public regional conversation about innovation, entrepreneurship, and the future of our region and its place in the world community.
