Once your event is published, you'll want to do all of these to promote to your existing audience. If you're just starting your Startup Grind Chapter, you'll want to learn how to market to grow a new audience.
Ticketing via EventBrite
The sale of tickets is still being handled through EventBrite, meaning this is the only way to see how many tickets have been sold at any moment, to provide promotional codes for press or VIP attendees, and give refunds. Startup Grind’s refund policy is to politely offer a free ticket to the next event instead of a refund, which covers 90% of all requests.

Promoting via Meetup
Messaging your Meetup communication is not yet possible through the Wordpress tool alone. Messaging your Meetup members can be done through the “Message Attendees” or “Message All Members” tools. The best practice is to message all the RSVP’d attendees multiple times before the event to assure that they buy their ticket, especially when the Meetup group is over 100 members.
Promoting with the Newsletter Tool
The Newsletter tool allows you to message the attendees of your current and past events about upcoming speakers. It’s a great way to continue growing your audience by retaining more of your past attendees. The newsletter tool is very robust, making beautiful mailings custom to Startup Grind.

While the newsletter is a good content-rich way of connecting with your members, sending messages via MailChimp and the Meetup site doesn’t require HTML - it simply requires a great offer.
