He founded his first company, a marketplace for virtual currency, at 15 and his second, a social network around the college admissions process, at 21 while a student at Princeton University. He left Princeton to lead the venture until its acquisition by Zinch in 2007. In 2008, at 24, Jeremy co-founded 2U with John Katzman (founder of the Princeton Review) and Chip Paucek (CEO of Hooked on Phonics), leveraging digital innovations to bring top tier education online. At 2U, Jeremy has worn multiple hats, including Chief Technology Officer (2008-2009), Chief Marketing Officer (2010-2012), and Chief Strategy Officer (2012-present).
Outside of 2U, Jeremy is a friend and lover of all things “start-up.” He serves on the board of The Young Entrepreneur Council, which combats youth underemployment through entrepreneurship, and invests in and mentors early stage ventures looking to change the world. He has spoken on education and entrepreneurship at the White House and Congress, at universities and conferences around the world, and on NBC, ABC, FOX and CNBC.
