"This is it. This is my dream being lived out."
The name 'Jeremy Lin' has been gracing every sports talk show, every blog, and every highlight reel since he jumped onto the NY Knicks starting lineup 10 days ago when he put together a 25 point, five rebound, and seven assets night off the bench! The next game he started and scored 28 points and eight points - both career highs. The next game he set another career high with 10 assists and 23 points. Then four days ago the Lakers came to town and Lin bested The Black Mamba outscoring him 38 to 34 and winning the game to cap off a five game win streak. This all comes after he was called back up from the D-League (the minor league for the NBA) where he was sent to play, and the fact that he's been living on his brother's couch in NY.
Lin's rise to fame was recently called "The greatest NBA story in the past 30 years," by longtime ESPN analyst Michael Wilbon. Most incredibly he's been doing it on the biggest stage in basketball, New York City and the Madison Square Garden. Fans have been chanting "M - V - P" throughout the games.
His parents are 5 '6' tall, and he's one of the only Asian-Americans to ever play in the NBA. What's more interesting is that Jeremy hails from Silicon Valley. He was a star player at Palo Alto High School taking the team to a state championship game and a 32-1 record. As late as this past fall during the lockout he was up at Pinewood Gym in Los Altos shooting jumpers every day with the high school kids. He even played for the Warriors for a while but was cut from the team (as well as the Houston Rockets). It's an incredible story and one that's not going away anytime soon and should inspire entrepreneurs.
