Cyprus May Be Small, But European Entrepreneurs Know It Well

Summer is over but the Cyprus tech scene is just now heating up.  Mark the date on your calendar; Startup Grind is coming to Cyprus.

We are roughly half way through our EU Presidency term and our own Presidential elections loom ahead in the next 3 months.  EU austerity measures are right around the corner while drilling for oil and gas riches continue off our shores; never a dull day in Cyprus.

It’s been like this for over 2,500 years.  Geographically sandwiched between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Cyprus may be small in size but is always big on activity. Cyprus is also a great place for technology and a fantastic environment for startups.  We have a great location, kick ass English skills, and a really easy legal and accounting framework. Free wi-fi is everywhere and you are never far away from a coffee while coding a new app. Come be part of the startup disruption all the way from Palo Alto, as Startup Grind has its first inaugural Cyprus Chapter meeting. The event will take place at University of Nicosia, UNESCO Amphitheater on Wednesday, October 31st  (Halloween to all those paying attention) as we welcome our first guest speaker, Angelos Manglis from Thessaloniki, Greece. Reserve your ticket here. Angelos is the Founder and CEO of Atlantis Consulting, Director of MOBIP (European Mobile Services Innovation Platform), Honorary member of the HAMAC Association and Facilitator of the Hellenic Mobile Cluster and EMMINVEST projects aiming at the co-investment mechanisms of the European Mobile Sector.

Angelos knows what it takes to build a successful business in Europe and understands the challenges ahead for European entrepreneurs from both a funding and market perspective. Make sure to join the Cyprus community here and reserve your tickets for our first event.
