Meetup.com Yearly Revenue Tops $30MM

Exclusive: Meetup.com is one of my top seven websites for two reasons. First, they have simple and effective tools to manage and update a like-minded community. Second, they are one of the best sites to help you move from the online space and into the real world. When you sign up a group you have to check a box that says you will have real world in-person meetings. Get Inspired: NY Knick (Palo Alto HS Star) Jeremy Lin Survives And Wins

The next game he set another career high with 10 assists and 23 points. Then four days ago the Lakers came to town and Lin bested The Black Mamba outscoring him 38 to 34 and winning the game to cap off a five game win streak. This all comes after he was called back up from the D-League (the minor league for the NBA) where he was sent to play, and the fact that he’s been living on his brother’s couch in NY. Read more

Live in NYC – Mike Yanvonditte CEO of Hashable

When you sell a company for $340M you generally have some pretty interesting things to say. Excited to announce Mike Yanvonditte, the CEO of Hashable is our next guest speaker for SG Live in NYC. Mike has a track record that includes Ziff-Davis Publishing, Pace University, AltaVista, Quigo, and Hashable.

Hashable was funded by one of New York’s top VC funds Union Square in 2010, and has evolved from a Twitter based introduction service to a mobile application to manage your address book. He’ll be interviewed by the awesome Perri Blake Gorman (she asked me to say that) who manages our growing NYC community. Reserve your spot today.
